Well hopefully the server will be up today. ANd i can begin hacking names into it and giving everyone accounts. When you say you want an account you must specify Linux/windows. But i do have to tell you right off the bat the windows install isn’t going to be as powerfull. Just because its a whore and wont paravirtulize. Thats microshaft giving you the old FU buddy once again!! We will see how it goes, and fuck it your getting Linux accounts by default. You will have to convince me you need a windows account.

I have been using Vista for a couple months now and let me say 2 things:

Making the move was easy install and forget about it, but i switched to 64bit after the first 2 months added another 4 gigs of ram making it a grand total of 6 gigs and it is just now almost as fast as my xp install. Almost but hey almost and close only count in horseshoes and hand grenades, either of which i d rather be playing than playing with an os. I’m pretty close to just installing linux,osx, whatever and saying fuck it. Ill wait till sp1 but if it don’t improve I’m out.

my man over at drunkcyclist.com is having thank god i didn’t die sale, (not me him). if you don’t know he was hit by a car, while riding. And managed to live, the driver was drunk or something of the sort. Anyway show a mofo some love buy a sticker at least.

Ill be rockin the server all week once its up so don’t call e-mail or talk about your dead hookers till we get this fucker pumping. I have registered the bevoattack.com domain and will point it over. I’m just wondering if i should point like games.bevoattack.com to the Linux server as well. What do you think?

So the server fund is just about topped off. Its look in like we may get either dual quad cores off the bat, or just more memory. I’m leaning in the direction of more memory. Cause i like memoryz. What i have not divulged yet is what we will be running exactly. I’m in the process of working out a XEN solution that will allow us to run the old 10100 windows 2003 server along with a shiny new centOS webserver. so basically it will be badass, I’m going to be posting screen shots and writing articles on the setup process. Not too detailed for the sake of us keeping the server from getting owned on the first day. But pretty pictures and stuff will ensue as the packages arrive.

I want to thank everyone who has donated and thank those of you that have pledged to donate and just haven’t found the time to hit the send button. Were looking at an eta of 2 weeks tops. SO I did it, I took the plunge and installed the ultimate edition of vista. Its called like super badass ultimate attack version or something or maybe just ultimate I forget. So my impressions, well apparently I have some hardware in my system that doesn?t agree with it totally. I mean everything works, and after it boots its nice and fast. But boot up is a whore taking from 2-5minutes. I have a feeling its my raid drive and having vista in a second partition is another theory of mine. But besides the shortcomings of it being a hog (honestly what were you expecting) and the driver area blowing right now. I have to say that I actually like the interface, the UI is a nice change from XP.

I think within a couple months we will see a much more useable gaming platform from vista, in the wake of the initial release shock. Ill switch, and I know about everyone reading this is thinking about it. My advise right now is to just wait, let the drivers mature, save up for more ram, and see what happens within the next couple months.
